The Kitchen
The Kitchen cabinetry is built from birch plywood, with cabinet boxes edged in white oak for durability and a clean, refined finish. Drawer fronts and doors are formed from birch plywood and framed with a deep walnut surround. Along the top rail, the walnut is shaped with an integrated finger-pull groove, creating a seamless, handleless appearance while keeping the warmth of the solid timber at the point of touch.
The island is designed as a working centre of the room and includes a built-in dog bed-practical, considered, and made as part of the cabinetry rather than an afterthought. Beside the sink, a pull-out cabinet incorporates a towel rail to the front and a hidden internal drawer, keeping everyday items close at hand but out of sight.
The kitchen walls are fully lined in birch plywood, tying the space together through material continuity. Paired with a dark red tiled backsplash, the combination of birch and walnut creates a warm, cohesive palette that balances utility with careful detailing throughout.
